About
Insight Medical is a specialist interventional and endovascular practice providing advanced care, closer to home for patients in Orange and across the Central West.
We focus on minimally invasive, image-guided treatments that aim to reduce recovery time and avoid unnecessary surgery.
Care is delivered thoughtfully with an emphasis on safety, quality, and clear communication.
What We Do
Insight Medical provides image-guided, minimally invasive procedures that diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions, often without the need for open surgery or prolonged hospital stays.
While a significant part of our work involves pelvic and vascular interventions, the scope of practice extends beyond any single condition.
Our practice includes care for:
- Women’s health; uterine interventions, pelvic vein treatment, and fertility related investigations/therapy
- Men’s health; prostate interventions and varicocele treatment
- Venous access procedures, including chemotherapy access ports, dialysis catheters, and long-term lines
- Image-guided biopsies and other diagnostic/interventional procedures
Each procedure is carefully planned, evidence-based, and selected with the goal of achieving the best outcome with the least disruption to everyday life.
Our Approach
At Insight Medical, care is centred on clarity, safety, and trust. We take the time to listen, explain options clearly, and support patients in making informed decisions about their own care. Our practice is built on thoughtful assessment, meticulous technique, and close collaboration with referring doctors and local healthcare teams.
Above all, our goal is to deliver expert, compassionate care while keeping treatment closer to home whenever possible.

Dr James Hillhouse is an Interventional and Diagnostic Radiologist based in Orange, where he lives with his family and provides specialist care to the Central West.
He graduated from the University of Sydney (MBBS) in 2013 and completed his junior doctor training at Orange Hospital. The combination of advanced interventional expertise and dedicated subspecialty diagnostic pelvic and abdominal imaging training allows conditions to be assessed and treated in a highly integrated and considered way. His approach to care is patient-centred, with an emphasis on careful assessment, clear communication, and evidence-based, minimally invasive treatment.
